Boston-based Berkeley Investments has received final approval from the town of Watertown to convert the Chase Mills building into life science space. 

SGA leads the design team for the 105,000-square-foot project. Core and shell completion is scheduled for late 2022 and potential for tenant fit-outs beginning sooner. Construction will begin this month including installation of new mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment, improved air flow and energy efficiency upgrades and reinforced concrete floors will begin this month. 

The 150-year-old Chase Mills most recently has been the headquarters of Sasaki Inc., which is relocating next year to 110 Chauncy St. in Boston. 

Newmark represents ownership in leasing.
