What: 53 State St.
Where: Boston
Owner: UBS Realty Investors LLC
Built: 1985
- The 40-story Exchange Place office tower at 53 State St. in downtown Boston rises above the 12-story Boston Stock Exchange building, which was completed in 1896.
- Recent leases include 46,000 square feet by Marcum, which occupied its new offices in December, and The Boston Globe which will relocate its newsroom and business operations from Dorchester to a 75,000-square-foot space in June. Law firm Rubin and Rudman will relocate from Rowes Wharf in July after leasing 32,000 square feet.
- The building contains efficient, virtually column-free 27,000-square-foot floorplates. A recently-completed 7,000-square-foot roof deck next to the tenant conference center offers views of downtown and Boston Harbor.
“This is the best outdoor space in all of Boston. Its 12th floor location, which is the roof of the original Exchange Building, is the perfect height for outdoor space. This, when combined with the amazing design by SGA (Spagnolo Gisness & Assoc.) and the incredible views down State Street to the Boston Harbor and the Custom House Building, helps create a unique experience for our tenants.”
