- Waltham-based Hobbs Brook Management LLC has completed installation of two solar canopies at its 601 and 701 Edgewater Drive office buildings in Wakefield.
- The renewable energy systems will product over 16 million kilowatts of electricity over their lifetimes and increase Hobbs Brook’s solar generation from 2.9 to 4 megawatts. Hobbs Brook previously installed solar arrays at its properties at 404 and 275 Wyman St. in Waltham and 95 Hayden Ave. in Lexington.
- Situated atop parking garages, the Wakefield arrays reduce snow removal and salting operations which can damage concrete structures and surrounding ecosystems. Large wire racks allow for replacement of solar cells as more efficient technology becomes available.
