What: POST 200 Smith
Where: 200 Smith St., Waltham
Owner: Anchor Line Partners and Northwood Investors
Built: 2016-2018

Anchor Line Partners and Northwood Investors have completed conversion of a former U.S. Postal Service facility into Post 200 Smith, a 430,000-square-foot office and lab building in Waltham.

Boston-based CBT Architects redesigned the one-story warehouse and three-story office building into a 430,000-square-foot creative workspace.

CBT transformed loading ramps into outdoor terraces and retail spaces that run along the length of the buildings, and created a 50,000-square-foot mezzanine that leverages the property’s high ceilings. Exposed steel, corrugated metal and reclaimed wood cladding create an industrial aesthetic. Amenities include a food hall, cafe and fitness center.

Tenants that have leased space include Deciphera Pharmaceuticals, Boston Dynamics and ElevateBio, according to published reports and industry research.

“POST 200 Smith offers a collaborative office environment and contemporary amenities that satisfy employees’ need for a highly-integrated work, live and play atmosphere. We are thrilled to bring this underutilized mail distribution center into the 21st century in a way that fosters a community-oriented workplace and encourages connectivity.”— Haril Pandya, director of asset strategy and repositioning, CBT Architects
