What: The PostMark
Owner: 136 Haven Street LLC
Where: Reading
Built: 2019

A redevelopment of the Reading post office will create 50 luxury condominiums and 8,000 square feet of commercial space while preserving the building’s century-old Georgian Revival style facade and Corinthian columns.

Nauset Construction recently broke ground on the project located two blocks from the MBTA Commuter Rail station. Designed by O’Sullivan Architects of Reading, the project will include 10 income-restricted units and 40 market-rate condos.

Following the selective demolition of the rear of the building, the five-story contemporary-style residential addition will be constructed utilizing a design that complements the classic design of the post office. The one- and two-bedroom condominium homes will feature open floor plans and energy efficient features, and have access to a roof deck.

135 Haven Street LLC is a joint venture of Lynnfield-based DiBiase Homes and Matrix Property Group of Reading.

They Said It:

“We see the redevelopment of the historic post office as an opportunity to not only deliver transit-oriented condominiums to a market with a strong demand for housing, but to preserve an iconic building for the town of Reading. “We are also exploring what mix of commercial uses will best complement The PostMark and add vibrancy to downtown Reading.”
