Pharmalucence Inc., which purchased a 70,000-square-foot building at 29 Dunham Road in Billerica for $2.7 million last year, has selected Integrated Project Services (IPS) to provide architectural design, engineering and construction of its new pharmaceutical production facility.

Pharmalucence, which will be moving its headquarters from Bedford, will build a new advanced aseptic manufacturing facility in Billerica, according to a statement. Partial occupancy of the facility is scheduled for later this year.

"IPS has designed and built award winning pharmaceutical manufacturing projects featuring advanced aseptic technologies like those we will employ," said Ed Connolly, Pharmalucence COO. "Partnering with IPS enhances our potential for success."

"Upon completion, Pharmalucence will gain best-in-class advanced aseptic fill and finish capacity to support its radiopharmaceutical manufacture and to advance its presence in the contract manufacturing market," said Dave Goswami, IPS president and COO. All phases of construction are scheduled to be complete by mid-2012. The project has been partially funded under the Massachusetts Recovery Zone Facility Bond program issued on the company’s behalf by MassDevelopment.
