Developers Eden Properties LLC and Samuels & Assoc. are partnering on a proposal to redevelop the former Goddard House nursing home property in Jamaica Plain into 169 residential units.

The two-acre property at 201-205 South Huntington Ave. would be renovated and expanded, with plans for 108 apartments in the existing building and 61 in a new 51,000-square-foot structure fronting on South Huntington Avenue, according to a letter sent to the Boston Redevelopment Authority today.

The Goddard House property hit the market in 2012 when the non-profit board that ran the state’s oldest nursing home shut down the property. The developers have a purchase-and-sale agreement for the property, spokeswoman Diana Pisciotta said.

The project is the first joint venture between Eden Properties and Samuels & Assoc., which is building a series of major mixed-use projects in the Fenway neighborhood. It will be reviewed under the city’s Article 80 process for large developments.

“We share the community’s commitment to preserving Goddard House by developing a project that both highlights and respects the iconic building,” said Noah Maslan, principal at Eden Properties, in a statement.
