Malden-based Garrick-Santo Landscape Co. has purchased seven acres of raw land in Wilmington.

The property comes with development rights of up to 19,200 square feet of commercial space at the site.

Garrick-Santo purchased the land, about three acres of which is usable, for $480,000.

It’s unclear if the landscaper will build on the site, but for now, the company will use the property to house trucks and equipment, said Rob Cronin, the Lincoln Property Co. vice president who brokered the deal.

"It’s a clean industrial site, a rare thing in that market," Cronin told Banker & Tradesman. "That’s the only piece of empty land I can think of on the Route 128 belt that was for sale for an industrial use."
