Hamilton Thorne Ltd. has renewed an 18,000-square-foot lease at Cummings Center in Beverly as a retrofit of its headquarters continues including the addition of new R&D space.
Hamilton Thorne manufactures precision laser devices used in the life science industry including fertility and stem cell research. The firm which reported 2016 revenues of $10.5 million acquired Haverhill-based Embryotech Laboratories last year, prompting it to consider relocation, Cummings Properties said.
“Ultimately, the firm stayed with us because of the campus’ abundant free parking and varied amenities and Cummings Properties’ construction capabilities and full-service lease,” Cummings Properties General Manager Steve Drohosky said in a statement.
Cummings Properties’ design and construction teams began a six-month renovation project in February that will include updated finishes and mahogany floors, a new conference room, renovated reception area and new research areas.
Cummings Properties’ Marc Knittle and Tim Brodigan of Colliers International represented the two parties in the lease transaction.
