Leader Bank’s board of directors this week promoted Executive Vice President John Fanciullo to chief operating officer, effective April 6.

“It gives me pleasure to welcome John to this new position,” President and CEO Sushil Tuli said in a statement. “For nearly a decade, John has been an invaluable contributor to Leader Bank’s success, and his advice and counsel has been critical in making us one of the top community banks in the country. As we continue to expand our presence in the banking industry, I am confident that John will remain a key leader for the bank and the wealth of his experience will be an important resource for our entire management team. I am proud to count John as both a colleague and a friend.”

Fanciullo has more than 40 years of banking experience. He joined Leader Bank in 2006 and worked on the bank’s senior and executive management teams, overseeing key operational and compliance functions within the bank. Previously, Fanciullo was the senior vice president and treasurer of South Shore Co-operative Bank, and he has held executive positions with other Massachusetts financial institutions, including Quincy Savings Bank and Horizon Bank & Trust Co.
