Boston-based health care investment bank Leerink Swann has hired Thomas Bassinger, co-founder of Rockport Venture Partners, as managing director of the firm’s investment banking group.

In that role, Bassinger will focus on private market capital advisory duties, as well as the firm’s relationships with corporate and venture capital clients.

Bassinger co-founded Rockport Venture Partners, a private equity firm, in 2001. He also held executive positions at two venture-backed companies.
