Members of the Greater Boston Association of Realtors (GBAR) have teamed up with Olympia Moving and Storage to run a furniture drive benefitting the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless.
The furniture drive, nicknamed "Furnish the Future," is a year-long event that helps families make the transition from homelessness to permanent housing, according to a statement. The donations received will go to the furniture bank located at the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless headquarters located in Lynn. The furniture will then be distributed to the families making their transition.
The furniture drive is being held during the week of Nov. 8-12, according to a statement. The deadline for pickup requests is Nov. 5.
GBAR’s community service committee, chaired by Bill Gehan of Campion & Co. on Newbury Street, has worked with the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless since 2007.
