As senior vice president of personal lines at Partners Insurance Group, Lori Chaput has a lot on her plate. She’s in charge of ensuring organizational effectiveness, managing activities of assigned staff for personal lines and establishing operational goals – to name just a few of her responsibilities. But for Chaput, the greatest pleasure of her job comes from working with others in the company.

“I enjoy mentoring and empowering others,” she said. “Being a senior vice president allows me to spend time with middle management and help them learn some new things and get to take on more responsibilities.”

Larry Wilson, president and CEO at Partner’s Insurance, lauded Chaput for her commitment to her co-workers, particularly to the senior leadership team.

“Lori is great to work with,” he said. “One of the things I think is a real strength of hers is that she’s a good listener. … [She can] mediate situations in a fair and balanced manner, both with clients as well as personnel matters. She’s great in that regard.”

Chaput has honed these skills over her nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, where she has specialized in implementing procedures to increase efficiencies and profitability.

“She really is a champion for continuous process improvement,” Wilson said, calling this one of her greatest strengths. At Partners, Chaput has led several process improvement teams, where she works with staff members across the office to conceive of better processes and procedures. Wilson said he has been continuously impressed with Chaput’s ability to “come up with really effective, improved efficiencies.”

Chaput began her career in the industry at John Hancock Insurance, working for its European General Agency, and she previously served as COO at Berry Insurance Agency.

Before joining Partners, Chaput ran her own insurance agency consulting business for several years. A busy mother, Chaput loved owning her own business, as it gave her the freedom to set her own hours. The work also allowed her to make many strong connections in the insurance field. One of those connections was with Partners, which made the company a great fit when she was ready to tackle the next challenge in her career.

Chaput is a past president of the Massachusetts/Rhode Island chapter of the Applied Systems Client Network, and she currently serves as chair of its Core Chapters Committee. Last December, she received the Gold Circle Excellence Award, presented at the Applied Net 2016 Conference. She has also volunteered with Gifts to Give, which collects and donates clothes, toys and books to at-risk kids, and Pine Street Inn, which supports homeless men and women across New England.

“Lori is a very caring person,” Wilson said. “She’s committed to her community, her family and her working team, and she exhibits that commitment every day.”
