The average rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage in the state rose to 4.7 percent last week, up from 4.63 percent the week prior, according to online mortgage tracker Zillow.
Mortgage rates increased nationwide, the first time since mid-October in most areas, according to Zillow.
Nationwide, rates on 30-year fixed mortgages increased last week to 4.67 percent, up from 4.62 percent the week prior.
Rates in Michigan increased the most last week, from 4.60 percent to 4.72 percent. New York and Illinois mortgage rates were the highest, at 4.81 percent. The lowest mortgage rates were in Texas, at 4.58 percent.
