If their political donations are any guide, the state’s real estate agents, brokers and appraisers are breaking for Joe Biden.

The former vice president’s political campaign raked in nearly twice as much money in 2020 from Massachusetts residents in the residential real estate industry as his rival in today’s presidential election, incumbent Donald Trump, according to Federal Election Commission data.

Biden’s campaign gathered $98,872.75 from real estate agents, brokers and appraisers since Jan. 1 in both the primary election phases and the general election phase, with $64,885.70 coming in in the former period.

Trump’s campaign collected $56,819.60 from donors in the same occupations since the start of 2020, with $33,632.78 of that coming during the primary phase of the election.

Significant numbers of Massachusetts residential real estate industry workers also gave to other Democratic presidential candidates during the primaries. Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar took in $5,814.90, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders raised $7,246.24, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren raised $7,248.21 and both were out-raised by South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigeig, who collected $10,061.20. Trump’s only primary challenger, former Massachusetts Republican governor Bill Weld, raised $1,900 from members of the state’s residential real estate industry.

No one brokerage stood out for its employees contributions to a single candidate, and the vast majority of Massachusetts donors in the residential real estate industry identified themselves as being self-employed.
