The federal government shutdown has taken its toll on the release of the state’s September jobs report, according to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.
The report, which provides data on the unemployment rate and employment and is compiled by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, was scheduled to be released on Thursday, Oct. 17, but will be released at a date that has yet to be determined. A report detailing the local unemployment rates, which would normally be released on Tuesday, Oct. 22, will also be released on a date that has yet to be determined.
