The Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s board of directors will convene on Friday for an emergency meeting to discuss a "personnel matter," according to a department spokesman.
The meeting will include an executive session, where the panel may discuss matters behind closed doors. The meeting is set for 2:30 p.m. at 10 Park Plaza.
MBTA General Manager Beverly Scott announced her resignation from the transit authority yesterday in a letter to the board after the system was sidelined with delays and a shutdown due to severe winter weather. Scott plans to step down in April.
The chair of the board, John Jenkins, said in a statement on Wednesday that he will appoint a subcommittee to direct a "nation-wide search" for Scott’s replacement. The seven-member board includes Transportation Secretary Stephanie Pollack.
