Mesirow Financial of Chicago has acquired the 212-unit Alta Stone Place apartment complex in Melrose from Wood Partners for $80 million.

The property at 1000 Stone Place was completed in 2015. Located next to an MBTA bus stop, the Orange Line and a commuter rail station, the property contains a mix of loft-style units in a renovated brick-and-beam mill building and three newly constructed buildings. Units average 948 square feet. Community amenities include a heated swimming pool, 24-hour fitness center, fenced dog park and resident lounge.

HFF’s Christopher Phaneuf and Mark Campbell represented the seller.
