A Roxbury nonprofit plans 65 units of market-rate and income-restricted housing to a Nubian Square commercial property owned by the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts.

Madison Park Development Corp. and Origin Property Group of Roxbury are partners on the project proposed at 84-88 Warren St., which would total 83,000 square feet of new construction.

The half-acre property is located across from the Nubian Square branch of the Boston Public Library and currently contains a 2-story, 13,000-square-foot office building occupied by the Urban League. The new development would include 7,500 square feet of office, community and classroom space for the Urban League.

The housing component would include four market-rate units and 61 affordable units reserved for households earning between 30 and 100 percent of the area median income, according to a notification letter to the Boston Planning and Development Agency. The project, which would include 24 on-site parking spaces, will help the Urban League sustain its location in the neighborhood while addressing community housing demand, according to the letter by attorney Joseph Hanley of McDermott Quilty & Miller LLP.
