New England Women in Real Estate (NEWiRE), a group promoting the advancement of women in the commercial real estate industry, has announced the winners of a half dozen achievement awards.

Awards were given in six categories: leadership, entrepreneur of the year, Esprit de Coeur, professional service, Suzanne King Public Service and networking.

Thomas J. Hynes Jr., from Colliers International, received the leadership award, given to a NEWiRE member who has "inspired, motivated and supported NEWiRE year after year and contributed time, energy and talents."

Susan R. Shelby of Rhino Public Relations, received the entrepreneur of the year award; Cheeta Lorian and Miho Soga of Nitsch Engineering received the Esprit de Coeur award; Sarah B. Lagosh of Eastdil Secured LLC received the professional service award. The Suzanne King Public Service Award went to Tabetha McCartney of Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly.

The networking award was given to Aurora F. Cammarata of Spagnolo & Gisness & Associates Inc., Patricia B. Forbes of Diversified Project Management,  Kristin Poulin of Structure Tone Inc., and Ellen Rothman of Red Thread and formerly Office Environments of New England.
