Boston Cares, New England’s largest volunteer nonprofit agency, has signed a lease for 5,043 square feet at 90 Canal St. and will relocate its headquarters in April from 190 High St. in Boston’s Financial District.
The long-term lease represents a 3,019-square-foot expansion for the organization, which mobilizes more than 25,000 volunteers in support of 165 nonprofit, school and public programs.
Avison Young’s Jack Kerrigan, Justin Dziama and Virginia Kerrigan represented Boston Cares in the transaction. Boston Realty Advisors represented landlord 90 Canal St. LLC.
"Due largely to the immense support provided by our dedicated volunteers and sponsors, our team is growing," Boston Cares Executive Director Patrice Keegan said in a statement. "Boston Cares’ new headquarters accommodates this growth and allows us to continue our mission of mobilizing and training volunteers who strengthen communities and improve the lives of people in need."
Located near North Station, 90 Canal St. is a six-story, 77,986-square-foot office building that features a three-story, arched glass entrance. Tenants include Pierce, Davis & Perritano LLP and Vantage Deluxe World Travel.
