Members of the Junior Achievement program at Shawsheen Technical High School spent the day recently at Northern Bank & Trust Co., where a team of bank employees guided them through discussions and demonstrations of skills and information.
Katie Gatcomb, vice president of compliance, coordinated the event, and also led a session focused on success skills. Sue Marble Cuthbert, education director for Junior Achievement of Northern New England and Shawsheen teacher M.J. Matarazzo accompanied the 23 students, all of whom are juniors at the school.
In addition to a tour of the bank, the program included sessions on workforce readiness and personal finance skills.
In addition to Gatcomb, those taking part in the Junior Achievement day events were Donald Queenin, executive vice president; Michael Leary, assistant vice president/business banking officer; Darren Sawicki, vice president/operations; Donna Donovan, residential loan underwriter; William Montague, credit analyst; Dawn Ferrari, vice president/human resources; Jean Nance, human resources assistant; and Vesela Todorova, BSA compliance specialist.
