The largest renovation project in Gillette Stadium’s history will include a new 218-foot-tall lighthouse replica topped with an observation deck, a half-acre video board and new concessions and function spaces on the upper levels.
The New England Patriots and Revolution owners announced that they have selected Boston-based Suffolk as construction manager for the project, scheduled for completion in time for the 2023 NFL season.
The iconic lighthouse will be replaced with a 218-foot-tall version including a 360-degree observation deck overlooking the field, and will be open to visitors yearround and available for private events, the Kraft Group said.
Other elements of the project include a new video board spanning a half-acre, which would be the largest at an outdoor stadium in the U.S, and 75,000 square feet of hospitality and function spaces that will create 360-degree connectivity on the stadium’s upper levels.
The project is the largest update to the Foxborough stadium since its completion in 2002, The Kraft Group said.
