The Boston Planning & Development Agency has named Lauren Shurtleff as its director of planning. Shurtleff is currently the BPDA’s deputy director for downtown and neighborhood planning and has held the director of planning position on an interim basis since 2019.

Boston-based engineering firm DPS Group has hired Bill Whitford to join its consulting team to lead its life science strategic solutions team. Whitford was previously a consultant for biotech firms like Cytiva.

R.W. Holmes Realty

Garry Holmes, president of Wayland-based R.W. Holmes Realty, has been named a member of the board of trustees for the Foundation for MetroWest, the only community foundation serving the area. Holmes previously was a member of the board from 2015 to 2017.

Suffolk

Boston-based construction giant Suffolk has hired Max Reed as its vice president of accelerated talent development, initially focused on on bolstering its developing a mentorship program for Suffolk’s employees of color. Reed is currently an adjunct professor in strategic planning and management at Northwestern University and teaches leadership and managerial economics at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
