Janet PirrelloA real estate professional who has spent the last 18 years as a member of New England Women in Real Estate (NEWiRE) will now lead the organization.

Janet Pirrello, senior vice president for BayNorth Capital, brings 23 years of real estate investment experience to the all-female group. At BayNorth, Pirrello’s primary responsibility is the asset management and disposition of the firm’s various investments including office, retail, hotels, senior housing, multifamily and industrial properties across the country.

Pirrello, who has served on numerous committees in her time with NEWiRE, replaces Joan Parsons as president. Parsons, who focuses on commercial real estate finance law as a senior partner at law firm Riemer & Braunstein, will be the first to fill NEWiRE’s newly created immediate past president position and continue to serve on the board of directors.

While Pirrello is newly minted as president, much of her time at the start will be spent looking to the past as the organization plans its 30th anniversary celebrations for next year, which includes honoring the group’s past leaders. After that, she will focus on incorporating new methods for members to network and create business partnerships, while also calling on senior members to mentor newcomers in their careers.

"It’s such an inclusive organization," Pirrello said. "I’ve formed so many great business and personal relationships within it. Sometime you don’t see that as much in other organizations."
