Financial data provider Powerlytics is mixing finance with football to predict the winner of Sunday’s Super Bowl, which will pit the New England Patriots against the Seattle Seahawks.

In a blog post, Powerlytics CEO and Co-founder Kevin Sheetz mused, "If pundits can predict the outcome based upon the arrangements of the constellations or the subtle movements of an octopus, we thought that we might be able to offer a more reasoned and plausible analysis."

To pick its winner, Powerlytics compared the financial health of Boston and Seattle’s metropolitan statistical areas using factors including corporate debt-to-equity, median household income and wages as a percent of household income.

The results of their study? Tom Brady and Co. come out on top 30 to 20. Let’s go Pats!
