Southbridge-based Savers Bank has hired Jeremy Leap as vice president of commercial lending.

Before joining Savers Bank, Leap was vice president of commercial lending at Country Bank and also held commercial lending positions at People’s United Bank.

“I believe Savers Bank is a true community bank that does not just talk the talk but walks the walk by supporting local businesses and its surrounding community,” Leap said in a statement, “I am excited to be a part of this team and contribute to its continued growth through commercial lending.”

Leap has a business management degree from the University of Pittsburgh and also graduated from the Leadership Institute. He will complete the New England School of Financial Studies this June and was a 2013 recipient of the Business West Forty Under 40 Award.

He sits on the board of directors for the Young Professionals Society of Greater Springfield and is the membership mommittee mhair. He also serves on the Philanthropic Committee of the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts.
