A 110,000-square-foot development next to Scituate’s Greenbush commuter rail station that began in early summer has received $27.6 million in construction financing from Rockland Trust Co.

SkySail at Driftway will include 78 apartments in six buildings and nearly 9,000 square feet of retail and commercial space at 318 New Driftway and 100-108 Old Driftway.

Developed by The Drew Co. of Boston, the project will include 12 income-restricted units and 160 parking spaces.

“Their loan enables us to expand our work on the South Shore with this project, intended to enhance the vibrant community in Scituate and bring a best-in-class residential experience with complimentary amenities to the area. The project will also bring innovative features both indoor and outdoor to provide a productive work-live environment as well as ease of access to transportation options to and from Boston,” Drew Company President John P. Drew said in a statement.

The 4.5-acre site was previously owned by the MBTA and is located next to the Greenbush station and layover facility. Dellbrook|JKS began site work on the project in June.
