Richard L. Rowe Jr., president and COO of Scituate Federal Savings Bank of Marshfield, has been elected a director-at-large of the Financial Managers Society (FMS) at its recent annual meeting in Keystone, Colo.
Rowe has been actively involved with FMS leadership for the past five years and had previously served as east region director and chairman of the Society’s Finance Council.
"The challenges that every financial manager faces each and every day have escalated to such a level that it has become quite apparent that only the best managed financial institutions will survive," said Rowe. "These challenges require access to the highest level of education and information, and in my experience there is no better cost-effective resource than FMS. I am proud to serve on the board of directors and to participate in providing the financial manager with the resources necessary to address our incredibly dynamic financial services landscape. "
As president and COO of Scituate Federal Savings Bank, Rowe is responsible for managing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the bank and is also a member of the senior management committee and serves as treasurer of the mutual holding company.
Rowe is also a professor of accounting for the New England College of Finance and is a frequent FMS workshops and conference presenter.
