Michael Scurti has joined the Braintree-based Simon Cos., a real estate developer, owner, and manager, as the company’s new chief financial officer.

As CFO, Scurti’s responsibilities will include finance, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, tax, regulatory reporting and treasury functions at The Simon Cos. with respect to its portfolio and client services.

In his new position, Scurti will have primary responsibility for all aspects of finance, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, tax, regulatory reporting and treasury functions at The Simon Cos. with respect to its portfolio and client services.

Scurti has more than 25 years of experience in real estate accounting and finance. Previously, he served in a similar role at Boston-based Trinity Financial, a developer of multi-family and commercial urban properties. Scurti has also served in various financial management roles at Vareilk Construction in West Bridgewater, at Corcoran Jennison in Boston and AEW Capital Management, also in Boston.

Scurti has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northeastern University.
