Siemens Real Estate has signed a lease with The O’Connell Cos. Inc. to occupy 38,000 square feet of space in the newest Gateway Park building located at 50 Prescott Street in Worcester.

The company will house almost 200 non-manufacturing employees from Siemens Industry Inc.’s Metals Technologies – or "MT Worcester" – business. The company said it plans to add ten positions within the next two years.

Siemens is consolidating two of its three locations into the new space. Final building improvements are being made now and the move is expected to take place in September of this year, according to a statement.

MT Worcester has more than 520 employees, supporting research and development, sales, engineering, project management, supply chain management, manufacturing and after market services.

Siemen’s move brings the facility to full occupancy and frees up valuable real estate on Belmont Street for re-use, the company said. Worcester’s Division of Business Assistance will work with the developer and Worcester Polytechnic Institute to continue the progress at the Gateway Park site.
