The Skating Club of Boston has completed the sale of its 2-acre Brighton property to a Boston developer as it prepares to relocate to Norwood.

The Davis Cos. acquired the 32,635-square-foot skating rink on a 2-acre property at 1240 Soldiers Field Road for $26.25 million.

CBRE’s Mark Reardon and Matt Furey represented The Skating Club in the transaction and procured the buyer. The brokerage marketed the property as a potential multifamily and commercial redevelopment site. The zoning allows uses including offices, retail, medical, multifamily and hotels.

The Skating Club in October submitted plans to state environmental regulators for a 176,000-square-foot rink on a 36-acre parcel at 750 University Ave. in Norwood, part of the former Lost Brook Golf Course, which closed in spring 2018.

The project is fully approved and site work will begin in April, Club Executive Director Doug Zeghibe said in an email.

The facility will host up to 23 events a year, with attendance ranging from 500 to 2,500 spectators, according to the environmental notification form.
