Proposals are due Nov. 25 for real estate brokerages seeking to market the sale of Boston’s Hynes Convention Center property.

The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority is seeking legislative approval to sell the 800,000-square-foot Back Bay meeting hall. In a request for proposals issued last week, it outlined plans to select a brokerage to exclusively market and sell the 900 Boylston St. property.

The MCCA will evaluate brokerages’ proposals based upon factors including financial capacity, qualifications of key personnel and experience with sales of commercial real estate in Boston and Massachusetts in the last five years, the RFP states.

The brokerage would receive a fixed fee along with a negotiated percentage commission based upon the eventual sale price.

In September, the MCCA board of directors approved the plan to market the Hynes site and use the proceeds to benefit a $500 million expansion of the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in the Seaport District.

The nearly 6-acre Hynes site is expected to attract widespread interest because of its size and location in Boston’s highest-priced submarket for office, retail and apartments.
