Stoneham Police Arrest Alleged Serial Bank Robber

An alleged serial bank robber who targeted four banks on the North Shore has been arrested.

Justin A. Hanlon, 28, of Danvers, was arrested and charged with attempting to commit a crime after he was arrested at the Citizen’s Bank branch located inside the Stop and Shop store on Main Street. Hanlon was taken into custody as he approached the entrance to the store wearing the same clothes seen in surveillance footage of previous robberies: a hooded sweatshirt, baseball cap, sunglasses and blue gloves.

Hanlon was under surveillance and had been the target of an investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies. He will also be charged in connection with three bank robberies in Danvers and another in Beverly.
