Boston’s Suffolk Construction and Marcobay Construction of Lakeland, Fla. recently won a $13 million contract by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) for a 200-bed bachelor enlisted quarters at the Marine Corp Logistics Base in Albany, Ga.

The approximately 63,000-square-foot structure, consisting of storage, utilities, parking and anti-terrorism force protection, will be built to become certified as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) facility.

"When seeking a strategic partner, Marcobay Construction’s core values were very similar to ours-passion, integrity, hard work and professionalism. They also share the goal of providing high quality and on-time work," said Rex Kirby, president and general manager of Suffolk Construction’s Southeast region.

Construction on the Bachelor Enlisted Quarters will begin in September and will be completed in 2011.
