Boston-based Suffolk Construction will launch its third-annual Subcontractor Development Series to assist disadvantaged, minority and women-owned subcontractor firms beginning Sept. 4.
The no-cost program consists of eight sessions. Participants will learn about Suffolk’s approach to construction management, including lean construction principals and web-based collaboration tools, and developing relationships with union affiliations to gain greater access to Suffolk projects.
The series will be offered exclusively to union and non-union subcontractors that are certified by the Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) or Women Owned Business Enterprise. Firms must also have been in business for a minimum of two years.
Classes will take place every Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Suffolk’s Conference and Learning Center in Roxbury. The application deadline is Friday at 5 p.m. Firms can register online here.
