Telemedicine Startup Leases Office Space in Watertown

A telemedicine startup whose executive team includes former Athenahealth CEO Jonathan Bush has leased 19,112 square feet at 101 Walnut St. in Watertown, bringing the 96,000-square-foot office property to full occupancy.

Previously located at 978 Worcester St. in Wellesley, Firefly Health provides the bulk of patient care through its mobile application which links patients to health care providers. In September, the firm closed on $10.2 million in series A funding led by F-Prime Capital and Oak HC/FT.

The Davis Cos. acquired 101 Walnut St. in 2015 for $23 million. The property includes the corporate headquarters of engineering firm VHB.

Bush, the founder and former CEO of Watertown-based digital health specialist Athenahealth, is executive chairman of Firefly Health.

Hunneman’s Steve James and Patrick Grady represented The Davis Cos. in the transaction, while JLL’s Steve Cook represented Firefly Health.
