A Commonwealth Avenue retail property in Brookline has been acquired by an affiliate of Quincy-based Grossman Cos. for $19 million.

Built in 1900, the 1-story, 22,433-square-foot building at 874-880 Commonwealth Ave. was the original store location for the Tweeter Home Entertainment electronics chain, which grew to 170 stores before liquidating in 2008.

The sellers were Helman Family LP and Eisenberg Family LP, according to Norfolk County Registry of Deeds records.
