Irish tenor Ronan Tynan, famous for his renditions of "God Bless America" at Yankee stadium, has bought a home in Red Sox nation.

Tynan, once beloved for his patriotic vocals, was ostracized from New York after a woman accused him of making an anti-Semitic remark in 2009. A few months later, he reportedly sold his apartment on the East side of Manhattan and bought one in Boston. At the time, he said he was moving mainly "for a change" and because he had family and friends in Boston.ronan_tynan

Earlier this month, he made his residence in the Bay State official by purchasing a Milton home for $995,000, according to data obtained by The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman.

The 4,124-square-foot, Colonial style home at 31 Canton Ave. has four bedrooms, three and a half baths, six fireplaces, double parlors, a formal dining room, paneled library and eat-in kitchen with a pantry.

Roland H. and Christine L. Schwillinski sold the property.
