The Village Bank, headquartered in Newton, has opened its ninth branch in Waltham after years of serving the residents and businesses there from branches outside of town.

The branch will be located at 251 Moody St., and will be staffed and led by branch manager Seton Murphy.

“The Village Bank has always cherished its relationships with our neighbors in Waltham,” The Village Bank President and CEO Joseph A. De Vito said in a statement. “We are excited to further strengthen our ties and relationships within the community by bringing The Village Bank experience directly to their doors.”

The new Waltham location adds to the bank’s branch network, with other locations in Newton, Wayland and Waltham, as well as a corporate office and loan center in Newton Upper Falls.

The bank celebrated the new branch with a giveaway for new account openings. By opening an account online or at the Waltham branch using the code “Waltham”, now through Dec. 31, 2023, the individual is automatically entered to win $2,500 for themselves and $2,500 for the charity of their choice.
