With Massachusetts now under an eviction and foreclosure freeze, landlord groups are worried their businesses are at stake.

Greg Vasil, CEO of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board, warned darkly in the lead-up to the law’s passage that the bill doesn’t sufficiently protect landlords.

“From an industry perspective, it’s not a balanced bill. It’s still heavily weighted in favor of the tenant, and we’re hoping the multifamily industry doesn’t become collateral damage,” Vasil told the State House News Service.
