The central Massachusetts office of University of Massachusetts President Marty Meehan is relocating after signing a lease at 50 Washington St. in Westborough.
The university will occupy nearly 48,000 square feet at the 92,600-square-foot office building owned by Westborough-based Carruth Capital.
Former University President Jack Wilson opened the 333 South St. offices in 2008 in response to budget cuts. The presidents’ office has a Boston location at the One Beacon office tower, which will remain open.
The Westborough building includes a sky-lit lobby, cafeteria and rooftop solar array, according to JLL, which represented Carruth Capital in the lease negotiation. Kelleher & Sadowsky represented UMass.
Carruth Capital owns more than 40 properties totaling over 3 million square feet. The Westborough building has 21,000 square feet of availability following the UMass lease.
