The United Bank Foundation recently awarded $43,000 to 11 Springfield area nonprofit organizations in a recent round of funding.

Recipients included the Elms College in Chicopee, the Gateway Education Foundation, Human Resources Unlimited, Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts, and the Holyoke Public Library, to fund a variety of initiatives encompassing education, health and human services, youth development and cultural programs.
