Biotech company Verastem will relocate from Cambridge’s Kendall Square to 117 Kendrick St. in Needham by year’s end after leasing 15,197 square feet for its new headquarters.
The company, which develops drugs to target cancer stem cells, will occupy twice the space it currently leases at 215 1st St. in Cambridge.
"Our relocation provides us with the space needed to support our three programs in clinical development and greatly reduces the commuting time for the majority of our employees," Robert Forrester, Verastem’s president and CEO, said in a statement.
Transwestern RBJ’s Rob Byrne, Steve Purpura and Eric Smith represented Verastem in the transaction. Cushman & Wakefield represented landlord Intercontinental Real Estate.
