Welch’s, the processing and marketing subsidiary of the National Grape Cooperative, has leased 85,000-square-feet at 300 Baker Ave. in Concord.
Welch’s will merge its current headquarters facility, at 575 Virginia Road in Concord, and its technology center, at 749 Middlesex Turnpike in Billerica, into the new facility. Architecture firm Spagnolo Gisness & Associates will remodel the space for Welch’s.
"We are excited to maintain our headquarters in Concord, birthplace of the delicious and healthy grape we use to make our famous juices, jams and jellies," said Brad Irwin, Welch’s CEO, in a statement. "We appreciate the efforts of Normandy Real Estate Partners and the town of Concord in helping us achieve the most collaborative and productive work environment possible."
The 300 Baker Ave. complex, owned by Normandy Real Estate Partners, consists of a three-story, 409,220-square-foot first-class office/R&D building situated on 78 acres on Route 2 in Concord. The complex has 200,000 square feet of unused space, and included a full-service cafeteria, fully equipped fitness center and a common conference facility.
"Welch’s has been a foundation of Concord for decades and we are pleased to have had a role in helping the company find its new headquarters at a location that allows them to stay in this town for the foreseeable future," said Mark Roopenian, senior vice president of Normandy Real Estate Partners.
Senior Managing Director John Boyle and Vice President Michael O’Leary of Cassidy Turley FHO represented Welch’s in the transaction.
