Norwell’s Acella Construction Corp. has been selected to manage the construction for the Wellfleet Preservation Hall.

Acella will gut and renovate the former Catholic church at 335 Main St. and transform the structure into a year-round cultural center. The plans also include adding a 2,200-square-foot, two-level addition to the existing structure, according to a statement.

"It’s been a great experience for Acella Construction to work so closely with Marla Rice, president of the Wellfleet Preservation Hall Board, architect Jim Hadley, and the entire committee on this project," said David Dirubbo, president of Acella Construction. "This project continues to solidify our commitment to working on the Cape. I realize how important this type of project is to the community, and we’re excited to get started on building the facility that this community has been dreaming of for so long."

Acella has been doing preconstruction services on this project since October, and construction is set to begin in March.

The architect for the project is Hadley Crow Studio of Orleans.
