Boston-based WinnCos. has leased 27,000 square feet at One Washington in Downtown Crossing for a new headquarters.

The lease brings the 155,000-square-foot, 16-story office building owned by The Georgetown Co. up to 98 percent occupancy.

WinnCos. CEO Gilbert Winn said in a statement that the new location, which replaces its Quincy Marketplace headquarters, provides a modern and flexible office space. Existing tenants at One Washington include Staples, Stewart Title, The Housing Partnership, Massachusetts Bankers Assoc., Verizon Wireless and Donnelley Financial.

Peter Farnum of Cushman & Wakefield represented WinnCos. on the lease agreement. Mike Whitman led the leasing efforts internally for The Georgetown Co.

The Georgetown Co. purchased One Washington in 2013 for nearly $57 million.
