Developer Beverly Crossing has selected Burlington-based Erland Construction to build a new 167,230-square-foot residential and retail project next to the MBTA’s Beverly Depot station.

The Block at Odell Park will contain 106 residential units and 9,000 square feet of retail in a 6-story building, including preservation of a historic former hotel structure as a corner element of the building.

The architect is SV Design. Residential units will range from studios to two bedrooms, and common area amenities include a lounge, fitness center, sky lounge and roof deck.

Completion is expected December of 2022.

“This vision of adding new housing and retail shops to an already lively area with restaurants, places of work, and nearby beaches will add to Beverly’s downtown,” Eric Greene, residential group manager at Erland Construction, said in a statement.

Boston-based Barnat Development completed a 67-unit apartment complex next to Beverly Depot in 2018. That project stemmed from an MBTA disposition of surplus parcels.

This report has been updated to include the name of the developer of The Block at Odell Park.
