A 61-unit apartment complex is proposed for a section of Brighton already being transformed with multifamily and life science development.
Brookline Development Corp. proposes a 6-story, 95,474-square-foot development at 40 Soldiers Field Place, replacing a 20,000-square-foot office building on the 0.45-acre site. Approximately two-thirds of the apartments will be two- and three-bedroom units, and eight units will be designated as income-restricted to comply with Boston’s inclusionary development policy.
Designed by architects J. Garland Enterprises, the project will include a 44-space parking garage. Approval is contingent upon variances for floor area ratio, building height and front and rear yards setbacks, according to a notification form submitted to the Boston Planning and Development Agency.
40 Soldiers LLC, an affiliate of Brookline Development Corp., acquired the property on Sept. 23 for $3.75 million, according to data compiled by The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman.
