A recently-completed project by a trio of Boston-area developers created 94 apartments on a former plumbing company headquarters on the outskirts of Somerville’s Union Square.

Braintree-based John M. Corcoran & Co., The Grossman Cos.of Quincy and Newton-based SMT Development partnered on the Union 346 development, a 7-story building including a roof deck with Boston skyline views, a backyard patio and 2,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

Nauset Construction was construction manager for the project, which received $42.25 million in financing from HarborOne Bank in July 2021, according to a Middlesex County mortgage.

Designed by ICON Architecture, the project comprises five stories of wood-framed apartments above a 2-story steel and concrete podium. Union 346 includes 95 studio and 1-bedroom apartments, including 18 income-restricted units, at the former J.J. Sullivan Plumbing & Heating property.

The property’s web site currently lists one-bedroom rents starting at $3,070.

“Union 346 brings much-needed market-rate and affordable housing to the vibrant Union Square neighborhood, which will further support the emergence of Somerville as an innovation hub,” John M. Corcoran & Co. Project Director Tim Corcoran said in a statement.
